Severus considers the answer for a long moment. Nothing has truly changed. It has been a shift, mostly in his own perspective.
Remus' presence makes that even clearer for him. The touches and the warmth.
"It has become easier." Severus surpresses the urge to rise and pace to aid his thoughts.
"In truth, it may be me who has changed." He looks at Remus with a small wry smile.
"The waiting for a conclusion," - which is also a way of putting it, no matter the huge consequences inherently part of that conclusion - "no longer seems unbearable."
At least that hasn't changed, his selfishness. Because he is being selfish, wanting as much time as possible. As much time as possible ... with Remus.
