Severus silently enjoys the touches, letting them further warm him, then watches Remus go to the bed. He turns around and leans slightly against the wall, looking at the delectable sight of his lounging lover.
He arches an eyebrow sharply at the mention of Tonks. The silly girls infatuation has been clear for a long time, to those who truly pay attention.
"And I'm so much better?" Severus wonders if Remus truly wants his opinion, or if he's merely sharing his experience and frustration.
Either way, he's getting what Severus thinks.
"She's always been a melodramatic and overly sensitive girl. And given enough line, she will try to pull you in fully. Why didn't you tell her the truth instead of dithering about with half-cocked excuses?" Severus stares intently at Remus for a moment, then shakes his head.
"The end result would have been the same, I know. She would have cried her little eyes out and Moody would have come to save the poor damsel in distress, as the eternal misguided knight that he is."
Severus snorts and pushes away from the wall, walking over to join Remus on the bed, sitting next to his lover.
"Kirill should have stayed clear of this, but you should not have followed her either. When somebody turns away and leaves, let them. Allow them to cool down instead of keeping up poking the already burning embers." How true those words are and how little has he followed that advice in the past?
"You should have told her you're not interested in her at all. End of story. Stop being so bloody nice." Severus slides a hand up along Remus' side and arm, then leaning in close, he snags the burning cigaret and tosses it away with a muttered incantation, exstinguishing it.
"All you achieve is prolonging the problem unnecessarily," he murmurs before kissing Remus' lips lightly. He pulls away, sitting up straight again.
